Position Overview

Peer Support Behavioral Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to join our team. This full-time, remote position offers the opportunity to provide essential mental health services through telehealth, focusing on improving the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of our clients. Counselors will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the holistic care of our patients while adhering to the agency's productivity targets for billable services. The annual salary range for this position is USD 87,000 – 105,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to identify, treat, and manage mental health and psychosocial issues, serving as an integral member of the primary care team.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient intakes with a focus on diagnostic and functional evaluations, providing well-informed recommendations regarding treatment goals and plans to primary care providers.
  • Deliver brief and focused interventions to patients seeking mental health services, while actively monitoring their progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment approaches.
  • Initiate follow-ups with patients to assess their condition, ensuring that they are receiving appropriate support and care.
  • Develop and implement relapse prevention plans tailored to individuals, facilitating their journey towards stable and healthy functioning.
  • Identify and support at-risk patients, developing proactive strategies to prevent the deterioration of their mental health.
  • Coordinate health services related to behavioral health care, establishing connections not only within the clinic but also with external treatment providers when permitted by the patient.
  • Document patient progress and diagnostic information meticulously in treatment charts, maintaining clear communication with primary care providers regarding patient needs and advancements in their care.
  • Empower patients with self-management skills and relevant educational resources, enabling them to take an active role in their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Offer consultation to clinic management and fellow team members on behavioral services, contributing to program evaluation and improvement.
  • Assist patients in navigating any medical treatments prescribed by their primary care provider, including managing potential side effects of medications.
  • Uphold the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals, ensuring integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission and services of the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, ranging from children to elderly individuals, all of whom present a variety of behavioral health challenges. Counselors will be tasked with assessing and addressing a broad spectrum of mental health issues, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of each client. This focus allows our team to make significant, positive contributions to the community's overall mental health and well-being.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling or a closely related field.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health assessment methodologies, treatment planning, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Familiarity with DSM-IV diagnoses and the ability to navigate various treatment modalities, including individual and group therapy.
  • Physical and mental health must be sufficient to perform job responsibilities effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of the social and personal impacts of mental health issues on individuals and their families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and their appropriate application in the clinical setting.
Preferred Experience
  • To enhance service delivery, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, facilitating effective communication with a broader client base.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital documentation systems is advantageous.
