Data and Insights ArchitectPBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Data and Insights Architect to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located onsite at our Company headquarters in Parsippany, NJ or at one of our refinery locations.

The Data & Insights Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing modern, scalable, and cloud-enabled data solutions that are optimized to support enterprise business needs. This role will be both strategic and hands-on, capable of defining a long-term insights driven data architecture vision while closely collaborating with cross functional teams for execution.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Architecture

    • Define and implement long-term data technology strategy and roadmap

    • Simplify and modernize data architecture, ensuring reusable services and cost efficiency

    • Develop and maintain data architecture roadmap, catalog, and integration frameworks

    • Establish best practices, patterns, and frameworks for modern data solutions

  • Collaboration & Enablement

    • Partner with engineers, developers, BI teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions

    • Translate business requirements into reusable architectures

    • Provide architectural guidance and secure senior stakeholder engagement for strategic alignment

  • Performance, Security & Scalability

    • Ensure solutions are secure, performant, resilient, and cost-effective

    • Define standards for data access, APIs, streaming, and real-time use cases

    • Continuously monitor and optimize architecture

  • Data Modeling & Governance

    • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models

    • Ensure compliance with governance, privacy, and regulatory standards

  • Innovation & Knowledge Sharing

    • Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend improvements

    • Participate in cross-functional IT initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

  • Required Experience & Skills

    • 7+ years in data architecture, database design, or data engineering; experience leading data warehousing, analysis, and modeling projects

    • Expertise in modern data platforms (Azure, Fabric, SAP Datasphere)

    • Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, integration, analytics architecture, and governance

    • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and Azure DevOps

  • Preferred Experience & Skills

    • Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse

    • Experience with streaming and real-time architectures

    • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)

    • Background in regulated or complex enterprise environments

    • Experience in regulated or complex environments (e.g., industrial, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, or finance)

  • Expected Travel - 10%

The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes bonus eligibility, health care, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
