Position: Quality Lab Tech
Duration: Contract
Location: Pooler, GA
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician with expertise in Faro Arm measurement systems to ensure precision and compliance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical drawings, the ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and proficiency in working with the metric system. This role is critical to maintaining product quality and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections using Faro Arm and other precision measurement tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements accurately.
- Verify parts and assemblies against customer and internal quality standards.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in compliance with quality procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Faro Arm or similar portable CMM systems.
- Strong knowledge of metric measurements and conversion principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
- Proficiency in measurement software (e.g., CAM2 or similar).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a lab setting.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all company safety policies.
