Position Overview

Patient First Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic outpatient clinic located in the vibrant community of Cambria Heights, New York. This is a full-time position that offers an annual salary between USD 50,000 and 65,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Work Environment

Our outpatient clinic is designed for efficiency and warmth, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both patients and staff. The clinic operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential for occasional weekend or evening shifts during special events or emergencies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties such as managing patient appointments, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining thorough medical charts to ensure seamless patient management.
• Warmly greet and register patients, collect detailed medical histories, and prepare them for examinations or treatments while ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of medical equipment while maintaining a sterile and organized workspace to promote safety.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation according to established protocols to uphold accuracy and reliability.
• Administer medications, including injections, under physician supervision, strictly adhering to safety guidelines and dosing instructions to prioritize patient care.
• Conduct fundamental laboratory tests, such as blood glucose monitoring and EKGs, accurately interpreting and documenting results to aid in effective diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Educate patients on medication usage, procedures, and health guidelines, using exceptional communication skills to enhance comprehension and encourage patient engagement in their healthcare journey.
• Measure vital signs, document patient information meticulously, and perform routine assessments such as weight and height checks to maintain comprehensive patient records.
• Ensure examination rooms are consistently clean and well-stocked, efficiently sterilizing instruments and managing medical inventory to support clinical operations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, actively participating in discussions about treatment plans and status updates to ensure holistic patient management.

• Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic pharmacology, demonstrating a solid grounding in healthcare practices.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software to ensure all patient care documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions with patients, medical staff, and a multidisciplinary team.
• The ability to multitask and manage responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining high standards of service.
• A keen attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy, ensuring all clinical and administrative duties contribute positively to patient care.
• A strong ethical understanding, ensuring compliance with patient confidentiality as outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Preferred Experience

Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic is advantageous, particularly in roles that involved direct patient interaction and support. Familiarity with outpatient procedures, front office operations, and clinical protocols will enhance your ability to excel in this position.

Compensation and Benefits
