Work Environment

This position is onsite at our home care facility in Port Washington, New York, where you will find an acute focus on outpatient care. Our clinic environment is characterized by teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement, providing a dynamic atmosphere where you can thrive personally and professionally. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional weekend or evening shifts required for special events or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage administrative tasks, including scheduling patient appointments, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining accurate medical charts to ensure seamless clinic operations.
  • Warmly greet and assist patients during their visits by gathering comprehensive medical histories, preparing them for examinations, and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Support physicians during patient examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries by demonstrating proficiency in the use of medical equipment and maintaining a sterile workspace.
  • Collect, prepare, and label specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring precise documentation and adherence to health protocols for accurate results.
  • Administer medications, including injections, and assist with routine patient care tasks such as measuring vital signs, height, and weight, all while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests like urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring, carefully interpreting results and documenting them along with related patient information.
  • Educate patients about medication administration, healthcare procedures, and general wellness guidelines, using effective communication to foster understanding and compliance.
  • Keep examination rooms impeccably clean, sterilizing equipment and managing inventory levels of medical supplies to uphold the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals across departments to facilitate coordinated patient care, actively participating in treatment discussions and patient management.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) from a recognized organization is highly desired.
  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology is essential for effective patient interactions and support.
  • Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software to ensure accurate documentation and operation flows.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to support positive interactions with patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
