Job description

Make a positive impact by supporting students' educational journeys as a paraprofessional in a vibrant school community near San Francisco, CA. This contract position offers the chance to contribute directly to students’ growth while working alongside passionate educators.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or working with children/adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Comfortable assisting students individually or in small groups, including those with special needs.
  • Patient, adaptable, and dedicated to fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or related field is a plus.
  • Ability to follow teacher and administrator instructions and support educational objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of certified teachers to provide instructional support in the classroom.
  • Assist students with assignments, socialization, and behavior management.
  • Help implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and ensure students receive appropriate accommodations.
  • Monitor student progress and promptly share observations with teaching staff.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Aid with classroom organization, preparing materials, and supervising during non-classroom activities such as lunch or recess.
  • Encourage and model respectful, cooperative behavior among students.
