Job Type: Part-Time 

Hours: Mon 7:30a-3:30p, Tues 7:30a-3:30p, Wed 7:30a-4:30p flex (25/hrs.)

Starting Pay: $16.48


About the Role

As an Art & Drama Specialist at Pathfinder, you combine creativity and compassion to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore self-expression through art and drama. In this role, you support people in building skills, confidence, and meaningful community connections through the Studio Collective and other creative programming.


As an Art & Drama Specialist at Pathfinder, You Will:

  • Creative Programming & Skill Development
  • Teach and support art and drama skills in individual and group settings
  • Coordinate and lead drama practices and assist with public performances
  • Support art studio activities including tagging, framing, rotating displays, and exhibit preparation
  • Explore and introduce new creative opportunities that reflect the interests of individuals supported


Individualized Supports & Advocacy

  • Implement Individual Support Plans while promoting choice, autonomy, and dignity
  • Assist individuals in developing daily living, communication, and work-related skills
  • Advocate for individual rights and encourage self-advocacy
  • Support the development of natural supports and community relationships


Health, Safety & Direct Support Responsibilities

  • Administer and document medications in accordance with policy
  • Monitor health conditions and report concerns appropriately
  • Ensure individuals are free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation
  • Provide safe transportation and respond to emergencies as needed (CPR, First Aid, CPI)


Documentation & Program Operations

  • Maintain accurate case notes, support documentation, and program records
  • Complete required sales logs, expense reporting, and administrative tasks
  • Follow safety protocols including fire prevention, disaster planning, and maintenance reporting

Requirements

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Basic language, writing, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
  • Ability to teach and enable art experiences.
  • Crisis prevention, intervention, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
  • Be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance, implement non-physical and approved physical interventions and CPR with people supported when needed.
  • shall have adequate vision, writing, and documentation skills to perform the job's essential functions.
