Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand each patient's psychosocial needs and establish appropriate treatment and referral pathways.
• Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions, implementing a variety of therapeutic techniques, especially cognitive behavioral therapy, to address individual patient challenges.
• Assist patients in completing paperwork for entitlements and supplemental insurance, empowering them to reduce dependency on emergency resources.
• Help clients access necessary medications by navigating indigent programs and forming connections with pharmaceutical resources.
• Actively advocate for patients, facilitating communication with community agencies to ensure they receive the necessary support and services.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards while preparing documentation as required.
• Coordinate transportation assistance for patients when needed, recognizing that accessibility can be a significant barrier to their treatment.
• Participate in clinical and team meetings, contributing to case conferences to share insights and collaboratively enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals facing a spectrum of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to trauma and stress-related disorders. Your therapeutic work will focus on fostering resilience and promoting recovery strategies that are tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Being empathetic and sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of our clients will be paramount to your success in this role.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
• Must hold active state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) to practice in California.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating a solid foundation of clinical knowledge and skills.
• Proficient in conducting thorough diagnostic evaluations and formulating viable treatment plans based on assessed needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient therapy settings, especially with a focus on case management and crisis intervention.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques beyond cognitive behavioral therapy, such as mindfulness or EMDR, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of community resources and support systems available for mental health clients in the Santa Clarita area.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive annual salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and caseload.
