Job description

Purpose and Impact:

Our industry-leading intelligence support program informs decision-makers, from ground force commanders to international partners and national security policymakers. Our employees lead the Intelligence community in providing superior Identity Intelligence and regional threat analysis, and developing innovative data-driven solutions, supporting the customer through intelligence analysis and tradecraft proliferation.

Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position directly supports Defense Intelligence Senior Level customers by conducting all-source analysis and analytical production by using intelligence and information from multiple sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues and developments that are regional or functional in nature. You will provide all-source analytic support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence analytic requirements on a range of topics to include foreign command structures and leaderships; conventional and irregular forces organization and structure and decision making processes; Analysts will analyze conventional and irregular forces capabilities and how these ground force organizations sustain themselves, populations, and field combat forces. Conventional force capabilities include organization and administration, military manpower, weapons and equipment, order of battle, logistics, training, recruiting and resourcing. Insurgent capabilities include recruitment, messaging, population control, material procurement, development and proliferation, transregional logistics, and financing.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication and constant mental alertness. Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Demonstrates comprehensive mission knowledge and all-source skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced.
  • Demonstrates the ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organization, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence, including providing education and training support including the production of in-depth analytic studies, open-source white papers, PowerPoint briefings, hardcopy and electronic books and reference materials, and instructional materials such as terrain tables.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems. Provides guidance in selecting, designing, and applying analytic methodologies. Uses argument evaluation and validated analytic methodologies to challenge differing perspectives
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct all-source geospatial analysis of objects, networks, and persons using geospatial tools, methodologies, spatial-temporal data, imagery, and social and physical sciences. Exploits imagery, vector, and other data types to include non-geospatially correlated data to locate, identify and map objects in the spatial domain.
  • Demonstrates ability to produce analysis on terrain mapping, route planning, and maritime geospatial activity. Interprets imagery including (but not limited to) visible, infrared and radar data as well as full-motion video for the identification of foreign conventional and unconventional military facilities, systems and activities.

Security Clearance Required:

  • TS/SCI

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 17 yrs relevant experience, 12 yrs w/ Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing wargames and force-on-force scenarios for threat nations invasions into other countries, to include analysis of battle type factors, and in-depth studies, such as force ratios, national/armed forces strengths and weaknesses, quality and numbers of weapons and equipment, national and armed forces doctrines, and intangibles such as esprit de corps and morale.
