Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to contribute to the well-being of clients without the constraints of a traditional office environment. Interaction with colleagues and clients is facilitated through advanced online communication tools, ensuring that all team members stay connected while working from the comfort of their homes. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent routine to support your work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and implement interventions for clients experiencing urgent mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate counseling and support to individuals seeking assistance for issues related to substance misuse and mental health crises.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency response teams to ensure client safety and appropriate care during critical interventions.
• Offer follow-up care and recommendations for continuous support, tailoring treatment options to fit the unique needs of each client.
• Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to effectively manage volatile situations and stabilize clients in crisis.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, enhancing your skills in crisis counseling and evidence-based practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be individuals grappling with emotional distress due to substance addiction, trauma, or mental health crises. Your ability to approach each case with cultural sensitivity and empathy will enable you to build strong therapeutic relationships, fostering trust and cooperation with clients from varied backgrounds and life experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credentials.
• A proven track record with a minimum of three years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Specialized training in crisis management and trauma-informed care approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective counseling services under pressure, especially in immediate mental health crises.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for connecting with clients in distress.
• Cultural competence to effectively support diverse populations experiencing mental health challenges.
• Experience in conducting rapid assessments and developing tailored crisis intervention plans that prioritize client needs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing mental health practice.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with specific evidence-based crisis intervention methodologies and de-escalation strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
