Job description

Contribute to the smooth and employee-focused work of the People Operations team concentrating on time and labor, absence management, benefits, payroll, and maintaining accurate employee information in the HRIS tool (Oracle HCM). Promote operational efficiency through implementation and maintenance of departmental forms and workflows. Respond to and resolve issues through collaboration with varied stakeholders. Deliver direct customer service and operational support to ensure prompt, courteous and knowledgeable assistance to all customers.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $25.20 - $29.84 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Support end users of the Oracle HCM system (HRIS). Answer routine end user questions related to timekeeping, system navigation, and other basic HCM functions, and understand/track trends with an eye towards continuous improvement.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the Oracle HCM timekeeping and absence management functions, maintaining documentation, troubleshooting/resolving any issues, and owning oversight of customer experience and issue resolution.
  • Steward departmental webforms and corresponding workflows/automation, partnering across the department to monitor and improve processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Process education-related benefits for employees and their dependents, one-time payments, and independent contractor requests in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Monitor for and correct Oracle HCM data issues based on scheduled audit reports and issues identified while supporting employees.
  • Create and maintain Oracle HCM records for contractors, visiting scholars, and various other non-employee categories.
  • Collect workplace injury information and initiate Workers Compensation process.
  • Participate in departmental process improvement efforts.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree preferably in Human Resources, office management or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong attention to details and ability to manage complex tasks and projects.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, stressful environment and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Able to project a warm, welcoming, and competent image to customers and meet all customers where they are in providing support.
  • Experience working with cloud-based human capital management systems such as Oracle or Workday is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, team collaboration and database systems.
  • Solid knowledge of general office procedures, equipment, etc.
  • 2+ years of HRIS or payroll operations experience required, preferably in higher education.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
General office environment with long periods of computer work. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a high stress environment and be able to maintain confidentiality of information. This role is entirely in-person.
