About Apprenticeships:
Apprenticeships combine classroom and hands-on training with on-the-job experience. They start in the $40,000/year range and offer benefits that may include health insurance, pension contributions, training, and vacation funds. By joining the industry as a Bricklayer Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to be a part of shaping the growing communities near you. You will have a rewarding job that offers variety and potential for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Basic bricklaying tasks: Laying bricks, aligning them accurately, and ensuring proper mortar application.
  • Material handling: Loading and unloading bricks, mixing mortar, and preparing materials for use.
  • Site preparation: Cleaning work areas, removing debris, and assisting with leveling.
  • Measurement and layout: Following blueprints and marking brick placement according to project specifications.
  • Cutting bricks: Utilizing tools to cut bricks to precise dimensions when needed.
  • Pointing and finishing: Applying finishing touches to brickwork, including pointing joints.
  • Safety compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations on the construction site

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Physical ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, work on ladders, and maintain good posture for extended periods.
  • Hand-eye coordination: Precision required for accurately placing bricks.
  • Basic math skills: Understanding measurements and calculations for brick layout.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring consistent quality in brickwork.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other construction workers.
  • Willingness to learn: Eagerness to absorb knowledge and skills from experienced bricklayers.
