This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a newly established service, supporting the health, wellbeing and attendance of our diverse workforce across the council.

Working alongside the Occupational Health Service Manager, you will provide expert occupational health advice and guidance to managers and employees, delivering a comprehensive range of services including fitness for work assessments, health surveillance, rehabilitation support, health screening and immunisation programmes.

Why join us?

  • Be part of a newly established Occupational Health Service with opportunities to influence and shape future development.
  • Work within a fully in-house service, enabling close collaboration with managers and employees and a strong focus on employee wellbeing.
  • Enjoy working from our excellent modern facilities at our new Redhills site, providing a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Benefit from a blend of remote and onsite working, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Access a range of wellbeing support services, including our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • Receive payment of your NMC registration fees and a £2,400 market supplement.

  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements and support for continued professional development.

About you

You will be a Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration and hold a recognised Occupational Health qualification to degree or diploma level. You will have substantial experience working within an Occupational Health environment, along with a comprehensive understanding of occupational health practice, health and safety legislation and workplace wellbeing.

You will also have:

  • Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
  • Experience in undertaking pre employment assessments, management referrals, health surveillance and fitness for work assessments.
  • Competency in audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, HAVS assessments and immunisation programmes.
  • The ability to travel throughout Cumbria as required.

If you are passionate about promoting employee health and wellbeing and want to play a key role in the continued development of our Occupational Health Service, we would love to hear from you.
