    Position Summary:
    Research Coordinator, Pediatrics-SPAH Kids Study
    Endeavor Health's department of Pediatrics at Evanston Hospital is seeking applicants for a Research Coordinator. This position will be focused on supporting the Stress, Pregnancy, & Health (SPAH) Kids study, a longitudinal study of the links between socioeconomic status, prenatal stress, and early child development. The Research Coordinator will work closely with the Research Manager, PIs, and rest of the team to execute study assessments and work toward project goals. https://sites.northwestern.edu/spah/spah-kids/
    What you will do:
    • Research Study Coordinator will support Dr. Pellerite's Stress Pregnancy and Health Kids' research studies, including social disparities research on pediatric outcomes and maternal-child health studies
    • This person will assist with study activities including submitting IRB documentation; identifying, recruiting and enrolling patients and other participants for research studies; obtaining consent; administering cognitive and language assessments to children; administering psychosocial interviews, surveys during in-person and remote study sessions at Endeavor's Evanston Hospital; ensuring data quality; participating in data analysis as guided by Research Manager and PI; and communicating with stakeholders
    • This person will also assist in preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and abstract writing as well as coordination of new grants- including preparing and tracking of study budgets

    Additional Responsibilities:
    • Responsibility: Knowledge and application of NorthShore policies and procedures that apply to job and area of responsibility
      • Institutional Review Board Regulations
      • Local, State, and Federal Research regulations
      • Obtaining informed consent
      • Consent form preparations, processing and revision
      • Adherence to consent and protocol throughout study
      • Correct communication of protocol and research procedures to subject and significant others
    • Responsibility: Support PI in initiating research studies
      • Conduct literature searches
      • Maintain and file appropriate documentation with IRB and grant making agencies
      • Assist in the development of data collection/entry strategies and creation of all study forms, using REDCap or other tools
      • Communicate with external research partners
    • Responsibility: Daily study coordination as directed by the Research Manager and PI
      • Complete all protocol requirements
      • Create agendas, run team meetings, and minute taking
      • Prioritize study requirements on an ongoing basis and adjust work schedule accordingly
      • Communicate all study/protocol deviations and adverse events to the Research Manager and PI in a timely and efficient manner to ensure subject care and safety
      • Assist with training and orientation of study personnel (research assistants, associates and data entry personnel)
      • Monitor subject accrual and quality assurance
      • Maintain subject confidentiality at all times
      • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for each project
    • Responsibility: Data Analysis and reporting
      • Database creation and management including safekeeping of files, entering data gathered during study, and ensuring data integrity
      • Assist with qualitative and quantitative analysis of data
      • Assist in abstract, poster, and manuscript writing to disseminate study results
      • Prepare periodic progress reports and submit to the IRB
    • Responsibility: research administration/grants and contracts management
      • Responsible for preparation of documents and application packages for the submission and maintenance of research grant proposals
      • Assist in identification of and application for funding opportunities
      • Support PI in providing reports to awarding agencies at required intervals
      • Produce invoices and track deposits
      • Communicate effectively with key strategic partners
      • Assist in developing project scope, objectives, and deliverables for survey contracts
      • Produce reports on survey data collection for clients

    What you will need:
    • Education: BS
    • Experience: 2 years experience in research
    • Unique or Preferred Skills: Spanish speaking preferred. Experience facilitating recruitment and follow up strategies with clinic personnel and operational problem solving. Experience working with data management systems and software such as REDCap, SPSS, Ripple. Excellent organization, time management, problem solving and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Ability to interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, research subjects, research collaborators, community groups and other research staff. Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, and show initiative. Experience working with children between the ages of 15 months to 6 years. Spanish Fluency is strongly preferred
