POSITION INFO:

The purpose of this position is to safely direct and support to set up and operate injection molding machines that meet quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. Prepares mold and components for service or storage by complete disassembly, cleaning, checking for needed repair, and proper reassembly.  Coordinates repair or new tooling needs with manufacturing and tool room.  Trains and oversees development of new cell technicians in areas of safe mold cleaning, preparation, handling, assembly, and set-up.

2nd Shift hours: 3:00p - 11:30p

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all work according to proper safety standards. 
Disassembles, cleans, repairs (or causes repairs) to molds and components, and reassembles for use; Checks molds for water leaks, damage, limit switch settings and correct hydraulic cylinder stroke. 
Checks mold schedule, makes proper setup and tags molds. 
Prepares molds and/or parts for storage with designated corrosion resistant materials. 
Possess and constructively use widespread knowledge of molds and components for coordination of service, repair, production, transfer or outsourcing. 
Operates material handling equipment, hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner. 
Assists Process Technicians in mold handling and set-up as needed.  
Changes components of the mold in the machines following proper lockout procedures. 
Safely trains new cell technicians in mold handling, preparation and set-up.  Coordinates work for any other mold service personnel. 
Provides safety training to associates as needed in areas of expertise, such as rigging, lock out - tag out, PIV handling, etc. 
Coordinates mold storage requirements and keeps mold service area clean, safe and orderly. 
Train others in safety programs - primarily lockout/tag out, rigging techniques and PIV operation. And perform lockout/tag out process on injection molding machines.
Perform advanced Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks. 
Use I.Q. System and generate work orders. 
Complete advanced Paulson training per matrix. 
Will need to successfully complete training in Basic Electric & Hydraulics.  
Complete RJG Master Molder-I training - perform e-Dart analysis; train others. 
Safely use mold handling PIV's. 
Perform minor maintenance and repairs. 
Communicates well with associates, coordinators, suppliers and customers, coordinates work in a positive and professional manner. 
Any job related duties as assigned by your team leader.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have prior experience in plastic injection molding. Preferred experience with PVC, ABS, and CPVC material.

Experience successfully operating and maintaining the machinery associated with this particular work area will be most heavily considered when selecting from applicants for this position. 

EDUCATION:

A High School diploma or GED is required, Full Set of Hand Tools and Tool Box Acquire and maintain PIV license, General Maintenance experiences a plus. Technical courses preferred     

 
TRAINING AND SKILLS:

    Ability to safely use shop tools, (both power and hand). 
    Ability to safely operate forklifts. 
    Ability to read and interpret machine drawings, control diagrams, and electrical schematics. 
    Ability to write simple correspondence. 
    Mechanically Inclined

 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

    Regularly required to stand, lift, bend, twist, and reach with arms and hands, stoop, crouch, crawl. 
    Physically able to climb ladders to access platforms, work surfaces, silos, etc. 

    Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
