From celebrity news to viral stories and breaking headlines, the New York Post is the place where news, culture, and entertainment collide.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Social Media Intern (24 hrs/week) to join our Audience Development team this summer. If you're a content enthusiast who loves engaging with a massive audience, staying on top of trends, and making an impact across social platforms, this is your chance to gain hands-on experience with a world-class media brand! You'll be working for one of the most influential news brands in the world, helping to drive engagement and grow our audience.

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from February 2, 2026 - April 10, 2026 . Participants are expected to work part time hours and adhere to our on-site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in managing and creating content for the New York Post's social media accounts across platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.

  • Engage with our vibrant audience by responding to comments, sharing updates, and sparking conversations.

  • Help discover and curate viral content to keep our feeds fresh, fun, and trending.

  • Collaborate with the editorial team to highlight breaking news, top stories, and exclusive Post content.

  • Analyze social media performance to help optimize strategies and increase engagement.

  • Gain valuable experience in social media management, content creation, and audience growth.

What We're Looking For:

  • A passionate, social media-savvy student or recent grad with experience in a news or newsroom setting

  • A strong communicator with a creative flair who knows how to capture attention with a single post.

  • Someone who's up to date on social media trends, viral content, and pop culture-especially in the fast-paced world of news.

  • A team player who can collaborate across departments, with a go-getter attitude and enthusiasm for learning.

  • Previous social media experience is a plus, but a genuine passion for digital content and engagement is key.

Pay: $17/hr
