Position Overview

New Path Counseling Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate full-time Mental Health Counselors to join our team. As an integral part of our outpatient psychiatric clinic, you will provide exceptional care to individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. This role is essential in promoting the mental well-being of our clients and driving positive outcomes through evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Work Environment

Our work environment is innovative and flexible, providing counselors the opportunity to work remotely while engaging in collaborative therapeutic practices. You will interact frequently with a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate our patients' schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate client needs, history, and treatment objectives.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions for clients, employing various therapeutic techniques tailored to their specific diagnoses.
• Lead psychoeducational workshops and support groups that promote community understanding of mental health issues.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and consistent care to clients, including follow-up and crisis intervention services as needed.
• Engage in continuous documentation and case management, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development initiatives to enhance clinical skills.
• Stay informed about the latest research in mental health therapies to ensure our practice remains current and effective.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at New Path Counseling Services, you will primarily work with adult clients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, many of whom may be navigating complex life situations that impact their mental health. Your ability to build rapport and foster trust will be crucial in creating a safe therapeutic space for clients to explore their challenges and aspirations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; a Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• Current and valid licensure in Georgia as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of various mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and psychological assessment techniques.
• Proven experience in providing therapeutic services to individuals and groups, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.
• Strong communication skills, coupled with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in outpatient mental health settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in specific therapeutic techniques, such as trauma-informed care or motivational interviewing, is highly desirable.
• Experience facilitating support groups and community outreach programs related to mental health education.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
