Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician – Injection Mold is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime by performing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair across a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role supports production by maintaining injection molding machines, packaging equipment, conveyors, and facility systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working independently during night shift while collaborating with operators, supervisors, and senior maintenance personnel to resolve both immediate and recurring equipment issues.


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment
  • Prior hands-on experience maintaining and repairing injection molding machines
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience maintaining industrial control systems
  • Proficiency with shop equipment and power tools
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges)
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Willingness to provide and maintain own toolbox and basic tools

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, plastics, packaging, bottling, or beverage industries
  • Experience with injection molding OEM equipment such as Husky, Krones, or Sidel
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing
  • Experience with VFDs, servo drives, and servo motors
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, air compressors, and water filtration systems
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC I/O cards, safety modules, and industrial communication systems
  • Fabrication skills including cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, or stick)
  • Experience working with 480VAC and 24VDC electrical systems

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines and related production equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics and testing equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on conveyors, fillers, cappers, labelers, palletizers, and stretch wrappers
  • Maintain and repair facility and auxiliary equipment including chillers, air compressors, and water filtration systems
  • Work closely with machine operators, supervisors, and senior technicians to resolve equipment issues
  • Propose solutions for recurring and complex equipment failures to senior mechanics and leadership
  • Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities using work order systems
  • Support production operations as needed, including filling in for operators when required

Physical and Environment Requirements

Physical expectations and working conditions associated with this role may include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and industrial equipment.
