Job description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to work with our Business Office.

The primary purpose of the Patient Account Representative is to complete billing process accurately and timely for designated group of accounts, by payer classification or other method of assignment. Ensures accurate and complete information appears on the claim while safe guarding the hospital by demonstrating consistent professional and compliant conduct.

  • The incumbent must be a high school graduate or the equivalent, with two years of hospital billing experience within the last 5 years.
  • In lieu of billing experience, the candidate may have an Associate Degree in health care billing, a Bachelors in a business related field or 12 hours of business courses from an accredited college in the last 4 years.
  • Must be proficient in using the keyboard of a personal computer in a Windows network environment and possess a typing speed of 45 wpm.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate, through testing, a thorough understanding of healthcare insurance, government regulations, and the UB claim form, along with the ability to read and interpret ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS Coding Terminology.
