About the Organization

At Motion Physical Therapy, we take great pride in our commitment to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services in a supportive, patient-first environment. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and treatment modalities specifically designed for effective patient rehabilitation. Our team consists of licensed and board-certified therapists committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, as recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association. We specialize in treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions and post-surgical rehabilitation, using evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.

You will work closely with other skilled professionals who share your commitment to improving patients' mobility and overall health. The atmosphere is one of encouragement and respect, designed to foster both personal and professional growth for all staff members. We operate during weekdays, providing a balanced work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, which allows for a quality work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients’ physical abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes, ensuring they align with each patient's unique goals and conditions.
  • Administer hands-on therapeutic techniques, as well as prescribed exercises and modalities, such as electrical stimulation, heat therapy, and ultrasound.
  • Provide education to patients on effective body mechanics, posture correction, and injury prevention strategies to empower them during and after their rehabilitation.
  • Regularly monitor patient progress, document evaluations, and modify treatment approaches as necessary to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to deliver coordinated care focused on comprehensive patient wellness.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population at Motion Physical Therapy includes a diverse range of individuals, from those recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, such as sports injuries and joint pain, to patients undergoing rehabilitation following surgery. Our therapists work primarily with adults, including senior patients who may require specialized care to enhance their mobility and independence. Our mission is to develop personalized care strategies that address not just physical rehabilitation but also the psychosocial aspects of patient recovery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Connecticut.
  • Board certification by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is required.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in physical therapy settings, though additional experience is preferred.
  • Ability to utilize advanced physical therapy techniques and modalities effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess rehabilitation needs and create customized therapeutic interventions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for fostering strong relationships with patients and colleagues.
Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is at least one year of relevant clinical experience, we are particularly interested in candidates who have exposure to a variety of treatment techniques and rehabilitation methodologies. Experience in a multidisciplinary care environment is an advantage, as is familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used to maintain comprehensive patient documentation and coordination of care.
