Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough individual and couple assessments to identify patient concerns and develop treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.
  • Facilitating sessions with couples and families, focusing on communication strategies, conflict resolution, and healthy relational dynamics.
  • Administering therapeutic interventions for a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:
    • Alcohol abuse
    • Grief and loss
    • Family conflicts and dynamics
    • Adjustment challenges related to separation or divorce
    • Support for blended families and parenting coordination
    • Stress management related to jobs and health
  • Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect changes in patient status and goals.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care, integrating additional support services as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with a diverse clientele including adults, children, and adolescents. Your role will involve working closely with various demographic groups, each presenting unique challenges and circumstances. This environment allows you to make a significant impact on families and individuals encountering relational and emotional difficulties.

Qualifications
  • Current, active license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing therapy and support to families, couples, and individuals.
  • Strong understanding of family systems, relational therapy techniques, and best practices in behavioral health.
  • Proficient in utilizing telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions.
Preferred Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who have the following:

  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a therapeutic setting.
  • Interest or experience in specialized areas such as grief counseling, trauma-informed care, or child/adolescent therapy.
  • Flexibility to accommodate various client scheduling needs, with a commitment to delivering consistent care.
