Job description

Role: DevOps Engineer

Location: Reston, VA
Employment Type: W2, Full-Time Employment
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and deployment management. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, and scripting technologies and be eager to contribute to automation and cloud engineering initiatives within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in AWS environments.
  • Create and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell Scripting, or Java.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to improve deployment processes.
  • Troubleshoot build, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Support CI/CD modernization efforts, including Jenkins to GitLab migration activities.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and operational best practices.
  • Participate in production support and incident resolution as needed.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route53, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience working with Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Proficiency in Python, Shell Scripting, or Java for automation.
  • Experience with Git and source code management tools.
  • Basic understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, and deployment best practices.

 Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Jenkins-to-GitLab migration projects.
  • AWS certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
