Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to serve clients from the comfort of your home while remaining connected with a collaborative team dedicated to improving the mental health of elderly individuals. The outpatient setting ensures you can engage with clients and their families, providing tailored therapeutic sessions to help them navigate emotional difficulties. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying specific needs and tailoring care accordingly.
• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions to address emotional challenges, helping seniors cope with aging-related issues.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to design and implement comprehensive care plans that cater to the mental health requirements of geriatric residents.
• Educate family members and staff on effective emotional support strategies, enhancing the quality of life for seniors living in community settings.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for residents and their families, particularly those facing end-of-life issues.
• Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs and relevant interventions to foster mental acuity and emotional resilience among elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role directly focuses on the geriatric population, helping elderly individuals deal with various mental health challenges stemming from aging, life changes, loss, and cognitive decline. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing mental health support and counseling specifically to geriatric clients.
• Demonstrated additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and age-related issues.
• Proven ability to deliver effective counseling services addressing diverse mental health challenges in elderly individuals.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting mental well-being among seniors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential in building rapport with elderly clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

The offered compensation ranges between USD 65,000 and 95,000 annually, complimented by a competitive sign-on bonus.
