Midtown Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) specializing in geriatric care to join our dedicated team. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to manage your work-life balance while maintaining a structured schedule. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide individualized and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based interventions to support seniors facing age-related challenges.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement holistic care plans tailored to the unique circumstances of each geriatric client.
• Educate and guide family members and caregivers on best practices for enhancing emotional well-being and quality of life for seniors.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of end-of-life experiences.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs to promote mental sharpness and engagement for elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients, many of whom may be experiencing complex emotional challenges due to issues such as loss, significant life transitions, chronic illness, or cognitive decline. Understanding the unique needs of this population is essential, as well as maintaining cultural sensitivity when interacting with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience in mental health counseling, particularly within the geriatric population.
• Specialized training in geriatric mental health, with a thorough understanding of age-related psychological issues.
• Demonstrated competence in employing evidence-based therapies to support mental health in elderly clients.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust with elderly individuals and their families.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards in counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Experience implementing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and other mental health interventions specifically designed for older adults.
• Proven ability to adapt counseling strategies that are sensitive to the cultural and emotional needs of a diverse senior population.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and related technologies.

Compensation and Benefits
