Job description

The Middlesex Corporation specializes in building and reconstructing highways, bridges, marine, rail, and transit facilities through its collaborative team approach and focus on core values. In addition, Middlesex Asphalt in Central Florida is one of the largest and most productive asphalt plants in the United States with Middlesex Paving earning an equally solid regional presence and reputation.
Position Summary
The MOT Lead is responsible for supervising and ensuring the proper set up and take down of all traffic control devices, as well as maintaining the setup for the duration of the job for all MOT personnel.
Responsibilities:
  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value - Safety, first in everything we do.
  • Supervise and ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all Middlesex Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Present daily huddles, weekly Toolbox Talks and safety talks
  • Develop and implement maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans in coordination with project managers.
  • Set up and dismantle traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, signage, and temporary lane closures.
  • Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
  • Supervision of all MOT Team Members
  • Ensure all MOT setups comply with local, state, and federal safety standards (e.g., MUTCD guidelines).
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours when necessary
  • Ensure proper set up, maintenance and removal of all traffic controls

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a MOT supervisor
  • MOT advanced certification
  • Knowledge of FDOT and MUTCD standards
  • Able to follow verbal instructions
