Job description


Perform and coordinate the global procurement of raw material for specific product lines to meet master schedule and customer order requirements. Mainly responsible for strategic purchasing of raw material to optimize inventory management. Job duties:
  • Work closely with Supply Planning to place Purchase Orders and reschedule raw material to meet production plan and optimize inventory.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relations and partnerships.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data to make decisions that may impact production, staff, or processes.
  • Identify and implement cost savings/cost avoidance opportunities.
  • Review and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures while successfully managing risks.
  • Serve as the key point-of-contact for authorized requesters, managers, and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve purchase requisition and purchase order issues.
  • Prioritize own assignments while focusing on key tasks despite limited time and resources.
  • Resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues with suppliers.
  • Interface with Accounts Payable and internal customers to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.
  • Possess the ability to maintain projects and critical tasks progressing when delays or problems occur.
  • Accept the responsibility of a leadership role in improving processes.
  • Work under minimal supervision while assisting less experienced peers.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related area.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  3. Experience using SAP or related MRP system.
  4. Strong Knowledge of ERP/MRP Systems, BOM and planning skills.
  5. Tactical experience with lean principles and supply chain management including material flow and delivery applications.
  6. Good understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling, and planning processes.
  7. Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiating skills.
  8. Experience with developing and implementing ordering policies.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build and enhance solid working relationships that promote collaboration and cooperation with all levels of the company and suppliers.
  10. Ability to problem solve and think independently in a constantly changing production environment.
  11. Possess sound judgment and exceptional time management skills.
  12. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of medical device associated supply base.
  2. Medical Device manufacturing experience.
  3. APICS or other industry certification(s).
