Work Environment

This role will operate within a climate-controlled office setting, primarily through a remote work model that allows you to connect with patients and colleagues seamlessly. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health status, utilizing diagnostic tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to develop individualized treatment plans that respect cultural diversity and specific patient needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy strategies, providing timely interventions and adjusting plans based on ongoing assessments of patient progress.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive treatment records and clinical documentation in adherence to regulatory standards and departmental protocols using current digital health technologies.
  • Collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement cohesive treatment plans that align with the patient's goals and desired health outcomes.
  • Coordinate referrals and resources, serving as a vital link between patients and other treatment providers, while fostering strong relationships with fellow clinicians and referral agencies.
  • Engage in mentorship and educational opportunities for students and interns, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of future mental health professionals within the organization.
  • Participate in clinical reviews and peer collaborations, contributing to team development and enhancing the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on individuals and families dealing with the complexities and emotional challenges related to cancer diagnoses. You will engage with a diverse patient population, utilizing your skills and training to provide compassionate, insightful, and effective therapeutic support tailored to their unique circumstances.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New Jersey.
  • Proven experience in providing outpatient therapy and mental health services, particularly related to chronic illness.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with evidence-based therapy modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
  • Familiarity with teletherapy practices and digital health records management.
  • Strong background in working with cancer patients or related oncology settings.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 90,000 and 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
