You will employ evidence-based practices to help clients achieve their personal goals and improve their overall mental well-being.

About the Organization

At Methodist Healthcare Center, located in Toms River, New Jersey, we are committed to enhancing the mental health of our community. Our center prides itself on its comprehensive approach to mental health, addressing the diverse needs of individuals and families regardless of their socioeconomic status. We collaborate with various local organizations to ensure that all community members have access to vital mental health resources. Our mission is centered on advocacy, reducing stigma, and providing person-centered care.

While you will primarily interact with clients virtually, our team fosters a collaborative culture through regular meetings and consultations with multidisciplinary professionals, ensuring you remain integrated within our dynamic work environment. Beyond virtual interactions, you will have opportunities for community involvement and outreach, participating in events that promote mental health awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of clients to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and unique challenges.
  • Deliver tailored individual, family, and group therapy sessions, adapting evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy.
  • Create detailed treatment plans that document specific goals, interventions, and methods for monitoring client progress.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to devise comprehensive and coordinated care strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including risk assessments and safety plans, to support clients in distress.
  • Advocate for clients’ rights and help connect them with relevant community resources while offering case management assistance.
  • Engage in outreach efforts, promoting mental health awareness and destigmatizing psychological services in the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The LCSW will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults, facing various mental health challenges. Our focus is on providing culturally competent care, ensuring our services are responsive and sensitive to the unique backgrounds of each client. You will have the chance to contribute positively to their lives by tailoring interventions that respect their individual experiences and fostering a safe space for healing.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills to effectively support clients.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and inclusivity when working with varied populations.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in community mental health or a related setting, providing direct therapeutic services.
  • Familiarity with utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and client management.
  • Experience in program development or community advocacy related to mental health issues.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary in the range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, we offer comprehensive benefits that include:

  • Health insurance options that cover medical, dental, and vision.
  • Retirement savings plans with employer matching contributions to support long-term financial security.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and personal days, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional development and continued education opportunities to enhance skills and keep up with the latest industry trends.
  • A sign-on bonus to welcome you to our dedicated team.

As an LCSW, you will have opportunities to advance your career through ongoing education, specialized training workshops, and potential leadership roles in future initiatives. We encourage our staff to pursue areas of interest that align with our mission of promoting mental health within the community.

Why Join Our Team
