Mentro Point Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Focused Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This full-time position, primarily remote with an outpatient office component, involves working with individuals experiencing mental and emotional challenges related to trauma. Work Environment

The role offers a flexible work setting combining remote work and scheduled in-person meetings at our outpatient office in Tacoma, Washington. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and initial evaluations of patients' mental health needs, focusing on symptoms arising from trauma.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans that address individual patient goals, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities.
  • Engage in one-on-one counseling sessions to listen actively to patients' concerns, providing empathy, insight, and guidance.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on evolving needs and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on coping strategies for managing stress and trauma and empower them with resources for personal development.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, social service agencies, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive care and support for each patient.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on best practices in mental health counseling.
  • Contribute to the center’s mission by advocating for the needs of trauma-affected individuals, identifying gaps in services, and suggesting improvements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on patients who have experienced traumatic events and may be dealing with conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other stress-related disorders. It is essential to have an understanding of trauma-informed care principles and an ability to create a safe space for clients to explore their feelings and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Washington.
  • At least three years of experience working with patients who have undergone trauma, demonstrating a depth of understanding in managing complex emotional reactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to produce documentation and manage schedules effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of fostering trusting relationships with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Salesforce is highly advantageous and may expedite documentation and care coordination.
  • Previous involvement in community outreach or public speaking initiatives related to mental health is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
