House Supervisor PRN Med Surge (Bariatric, Orthopedics and Oncology)

Shift: Full Tine, 3x12's, Night Shift 7pm-7am

Department/Unit Summary 
This role serves as the responsible supervisor for Memorial Medical Center during non-business hours, ensuring safe, efficient patient care and compliance with hospital policies and clinical practice standards. The supervisor oversees all MMC personnel on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; conducts frequent organizational rounds; and directs nursing staff in response to patient care needs, crises, and fluctuating patient activity. Key duties include coordinating bed placement, monitoring staffing and productivity, maintaining scheduling databases, and facilitating discharge planning in the absence of Patient Care Management. The position collaborates with multiple departments, manages after-hours O.R. scheduling, activates on-call teams for emergencies, coordinates with detention facilities, ensures regulatory compliance related to EMTALA and organ donation, and communicates significant issues to the Administrator on-call while documenting and reporting disciplinary concerns as needed.

You'll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. You will provide after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.

Qualifications and requirements 
-    License/Education: Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. 
-    Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required up on hire. ACLS and PALS preferred. 
-    Experience: One year of experience in Med Surge or ER requires.
