Bilingual Pediatric Medical Assistant / Scribe 

Location: Hempstead, NY
Pay: $19–$23 per hour

MedStaff Group is currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Bilingual Pediatric Medical Assistant / Scribe for a busy outpatient pediatric practice in Hempstead, NY.

Schedule
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

This is a combined Medical Assistant and Medical Scribe position supporting a pediatric provider throughout the entire patient visit. The ideal candidate is clinically capable, strong with documentation, comfortable working closely with children and families, and able to keep a busy pediatric schedule moving efficiently.

Candidates must be bilingual and have previous hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW).

Responsibilities
  • Room pediatric patients and obtain/document vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant medical history

  • Complete medication reconciliation and verify allergies and pharmacy information

  • Review immunization records and identify vaccines that may be due

  • Assist with age-appropriate screenings and pediatric quality measures

  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for examinations, procedures, testing, and vaccinations

  • Assist the provider during examinations and procedures

  • Scribe directly for the provider and document patient encounters in eClinicalWorks (eCW) in real time

  • Accurately document history, examination findings, treatment plans, patient education, and follow-up instructions

  • Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging, referrals, specialist appointments, and follow-up care

  • Ensure patients leave the office with appropriate appointments, orders, referrals, and instructions

  • Track outstanding follow-up items and communicate issues to the provider

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements

Qualifications
  • Bilingual required

  • Previous eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience required

  • Medical Assistant training required

  • Medical Assistant certification/registration preferred

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Pediatric, family medicine, or primary care experience strongly preferred

  • Medical scribing and EMR documentation experience strongly preferred

  • Strong computer, communication, and documentation skills

  • Must be comfortable working directly with pediatric patients and their families

  • Must be dependable and available to work the full required schedule

Compensation

$19–$23 per hour, based on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Bilingual Medical Assistant/Scribe with eCW experience who enjoys pediatrics and can provide hands-on support to both the provider and patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.
