Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Join a leading organization dedicated to serving our nation's Veterans! We are seeking a General Medicine Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in the Houston, TX area. This opportunity allows for flexibility, providing services either in your own office or at facilities within a specified radius.
As part of the Veterans Evaluation Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that Veterans receive quality evaluations that help them access the benefits they deserve. This is a great chance to make a difference while enjoying the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of Houston, known for its rich culture, thriving food scene, and southern hospitality.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform Compensation and Pension exams on a PRN basis, either half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours).
  • Conduct non-treatment C&P exams focused on interviews and minimal physical assessments.
  • Utilize METs testing for evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Complete timely and accurate reporting of exam results, including any necessary addendums.
  • Work within your own office or at designated VES facilities within a 50-mile radius.
  • Quick credentialing and onboarding process for eligible providers.
Qualifications:
  • Active and unrestricted full nursing license in New York.
  • AANP certification.
  • Proficient in METs testing and diagnostics of respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
  • Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
  • Ability to perform the role without prescribing or treatment responsibilities.
  • Must own a laptop (non-Mac/Apple).
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Valid nurse practitioner license in New York.
  • AANP certification.
  • Completion of DMA training for certification, as required.
