Job description

Job Title: Locum Physician - Hematology Oncology

Join a reputable Cancer Institute at a leading hospital in Richmond, Virginia, as a Locum Medical Oncologist. This facility offers a comprehensive range of oncology services, with a focus on patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The practice environment emphasizes collaboration and advanced treatment options, and you will have the opportunity to participate in patient research studies and oversee a Nurse Practitioner.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality hematology and oncology care primarily in an inpatient setting, with some outpatient responsibilities.
  • Oversee a Nurse Practitioner in treatment plans and patient management.
  • Enroll patients in ongoing research studies.
  • Manage call coverage during designated weeks.
  • Document patient encounters and treatment in EPIC EMR.
  • Work collaboratively with a small team of physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology - REQUIRED
  • Active Virginia medical license - REQUIRED
  • Current BLS certification - REQUIRED
  • Clean background check; must submit a NPDB report during the application process - REQUIRED
  • Self-Query NPDB report required at the time of presentation (should be pulled within 30 days) - REQUIRED
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology
  • Active Virginia Medical License
  • BLS Certification
