General Summary: This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all Melt and Mold operations and all applicable equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean-Up
• Breaks for all foundry personnel
• Magnet Crane Operation
• Charge Bucket Operation
• Furnace Operation
• Bull Ladle (Hot Metal Carrier) Operation
• Inoculation
• DISA Molding Machine Operation
• General Laborers shall perform their tasks in a safe, efficient manner with regard to production requirements, procedures, work instructions and the safety of fellow employees and equipment
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area

Education, Training & Skills

• Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks.

Work Environment: Inside and outside, noisy, dusty – sand and metal airborne particulate.  Work in close proximity to molten iron.  Radiant heat and warm temperatures in department, climate changes with weather when going outside to take care of some duties. Work with moving machinery and overhead cranes. Working on platforms and uneven flooring surface.

Tools: Air hammers/chisels, temperature probes, shovels, hand tools, trowels, brooms, chains, ladders, slag rods, inoculant cup, stopper rods, buckets
