Work Environment

Our practice offers a dynamic remote work setting that fosters collaboration and effective communication among team members. The standard work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient demand. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that take into account how physical health issues impact mental well-being, ensuring an individualized treatment approach for each patient.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement integrated treatment plans, addressing both psychiatric and medical needs effectively.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions based on evidence-driven methodologies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic modalities adapted to client needs.
  • Engage in regular communication and coordination with medical providers to support comprehensive care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Educate clients on the relationship between mental health and physical conditions, empowering them with tools for self-management and recovery.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to case discussions and interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Continuously update knowledge of best practices in integrated care through ongoing professional development and training.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse range of clients with co-occurring mental health and medical conditions. Common presentations may include patients struggling with chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, and substance use disorders. Counselors will focus on developing rapport with patients to foster a therapeutic environment conducive to healing.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R, ensuring the ability to practice in New York.
  • Proven ability to address the mental health needs of individuals with co-occurring medical conditions, showcasing versatility in the therapeutic approach.
  • Experience in integrated care environments, demonstrating a capacity to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure efficient and secure documentation practices.
Preferred Experience
  • At least one year of experience in a mental health counseling role, with a focus on working with medically complex clients.
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering evidence-based therapeutic techniques through both individual and group settings.
  • A history of professional development achievements, including relevant continuing education courses or certifications.
Compensation and Benefits
