Regional Sales Manager: TX, OK, NM

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for profitable growth in sales, revenue through planning, and management of a sales team in a specified region or geographical area. The regional sales manager provides ongoing support to distribute and execute Safilo’s go-to-market strategy to grow Safilo’s portfolio of products.

Relying on superior leadership and interpersonal skills, you will personally interact with our customers and sales agents on a daily basis in order to achieve the company’s significant quantitative sales targets.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage a team that can/will include independent contractors (1099) and employees (W2)
  • Coach sales reps, using non-directive coaching, to improve their selling
  • Conduct frequent ride-alongs with reps to observe and coach sales skills
  • Conduct quarterly performance/expectations reviews with each rep on your team
  • Network, recruit, and hire new reps for open territories
  • Determine compensation for specific territories and reps
  • On-board new reps within your region and implement the Safilo sales process
  • Build synergy markets to help reps sell as a team
  • Help maintain and drive additional sales in regional key accounts
  • Develop a territory strategy to share with director of sales and drive on a consistent basis
  • Manage and be accountable to your regional P&L and sales targets
  • Build sales plans for assigned region incorporating commercial and brand priorities
  • Be an engaged member of the 3O’s (opticians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists) leadership team and attend mandatory meetings
  • When needed, provide disciplinary accountability for sales agents in the region
  • Review and approve travel and expense reports for employees
  • Spend four days per week in the field


Essential Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent management experience
  • Must currently live within the region and be available for regular travel 80% of the time in the identified territory
  • 10+ years of direct sales experience in eyewear or a related industry, with proven track record of results
  • 4 days a week in field expected
  • Sales Force software experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering growth and results
  • Excellent training and presentation skills
  • Strong visual merchandising background
  • Strong ability to problem solve, anticipate challenges in advance, and propose solutions
  • Ability to embrace and follow corporate direction, especially in reference to closures and openings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Highly professional and strong fashion sense
  • Strong business judgment and negotiation skills
  • Team player with strong leadership qualities
  • Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must submit to full background check
