Job description

Job Summary: Serves patients by preparing specimens for laboratory testing; performing screening procedures.
  • Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with the Client
  • Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
  • Maintains professional and friendly attitude with Client representatives and patients
  • Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.
  • Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
  • Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.
  • Transports, or arranges transportation of specimens to the Ammon Laboratory according to client specification and industry standards
  • Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule;
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Enhances phlebotomy department and laboratory reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Requirements
Educational and Experiential Background:
  • Minimum (6) Months experience
  • Phlebotomy Certification REQUIRED
  • Legible handwriting required
  • Must have valid driver's license, travel to client locations is required for the position
  • Bilingual a plus!
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to relate well with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Ability to work proficiently and efficiently in a timely manner
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to completing assigned tasks
