Job description

Overview
LabConnect improves lives by partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and clinical research organizations (CROs) to accelerate the development of new medicines around the world.
We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
The Setup Specialist is responsible for supporting the setup activities for sample tracking studies, including database and form setup, and/or any other setup activities required for proper sample tracking activities. All activities ensure quality deliverables on time to LabConnect clients.
Please note: this role will be performed onsite at our Johnson City, TN facility. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm and one Saturday shift per quarter will be required.
Responsibilities
  • Support of SampleGISTICS digital form creation and database setup tasks required for successful form review (Form drafting, building, mapping, and any related LIMs setup and QC activities).
  • Execution of setup activities for all sample tracking technologies employed by LabConnect.
  • Support of LabConnect's Client Services Study Setup team regarding any Sample Tracking related documentation.
  • Review of clinical trial documentation, as required for job duties or in support of project management teams.
  • Internal data QC activities.
  • Support troubleshooting of sample tracking activities.
  • Attending meetings and, at times, presenting team information.
  • Support process improvement and other corporate initiatives, as needed.
  • Other related duties and tasks as necessary, or as assigned.
  • Ensures any out-of-scope work is submitted or communicated for add fees or OSD/budget inclusion and invoiced appropriately for work performed during the invoice review process if applicable.

Education and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree with +2 years clinical or laboratory experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with an educational background in natural or computer sciences, experience in IT, or training in clinical laboratory sciences.
  • Must possess excellent organization and interpersonal skills, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • The ability to navigate software and databases is a must.
  • Experience in customer service and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, is preferred.
  • Very high attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills are required for success in this position.

Language Ability
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
