About the Organization

Insightful Journeys Counseling Center is a leading provider of mental health services in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, evidence-based mental health care aimed at improving the lives of children and adolescents. We maintain a holistic approach by working closely with families and involving them in the treatment process. Our team is composed of experienced child psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide care from a location that suits you while utilizing our telehealth platform. You will have flexible working hours, primarily Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient appointments. The role leverages modern technology tools, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, to manage patient interactions and treatment documentation efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the emotional and psychological needs of children and adolescents.
  • Design and implement tailored treatment plans that consider developmental stages and family dynamics.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to deliver effective interventions for various mental health issues.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at providing guidance and support to parents and caregivers.

  • Stay updated on current research, clinical best practices, and advancements in child and adolescent mental health.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 years who are experiencing a range of mental health concerns. You will work closely with young patients, their families, and guardians to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship, ensuring they feel safe and understood throughout the treatment process. The ideal candidate will be attuned to the unique challenges faced by this population and able to adapt therapeutic approaches accordingly.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

  • Strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidenced by familiarity with effective therapeutic modalities.
  • Prior experience delivering individual and family therapy is essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on a child-centered, compassionate approach.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications necessary for survey and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of direct experience in mental health counseling is required, experience working specifically with children and adolescents in a telehealth setting would be advantageous. Familiarity with therapeutic frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Insightful Journeys Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a sign-on bonus to qualified candidates. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
