  • Prepare, review, and coordinate contracts, legal correspondence, and supporting documentation for a variety of real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal support to internal departments including real estate, asset management, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, development projects, construction matters, and vendor agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings while identifying legal risks and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, disputes, and other legal matters.
  • Support corporate governance activities and regulatory compliance for a publicly traded organization.
  • Maintain legal records, monitor key deadlines, and track contractual obligations.
  • Assist in developing and improving legal templates, policies, and internal processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to provide practical, business-focused legal support.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Paralegal designation or equivalent legal experience is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of legal support experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Proven experience drafting commercial real estate lease agreements is required.
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate, property management, leasing, hospitality, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, commercial transactions, and legal documentation.
  • Excellent legal drafting, proofreading, and document review skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and recognize potential legal or business risks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and confident in solving problems.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a growing organization where processes continue to evolve.
  • Willing to ask questions, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong business judgment and common sense.
  • Capable of balancing legal considerations with practical business needs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $65,000–$85,000, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits (effective after 3 months).
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage.
  • Registered Savings Plan (RSP).
  • Monthly employee engagement and social events.
  • Opportunity to join a growing organization with a diverse real estate portfolio.
Work Environment
  • Fully onsite position based in Halifax, NS.
