The Opportunity

The Senior Safety Professional is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs across operational environments. This role provides expert-level guidance in the review of complex safety deliverables, supports regulatory compliance, and mentors junior safety staff. The Senior Safety Professional plays a critical role in conducting safety assessments, facilitating training programs, and overseeing field inspections and incident investigations. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to proactively identify risks, implement controls, and promote a culture of safety excellence.)

What you will do?

  • Lead the creation, review, and implementation of safety plans, procedures, and technical deliverables.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to junior safety professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in and lead high-level safety reviews, including those related to operational risk and complex processes.
  • Plan and deliver targeted training on safety practices, regulatory updates, and hazard mitigation.
  • Conduct and document site inspections, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses for incidents.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce risks and enhance safety performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineering, operations, and leadership to integrate safety into all phases of work.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in safety management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive safety experience, including field-based safety roles.
  • Experience in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
