Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team full-time at Inner Spectrum Institute, a prominent mental health community center located in Rockford, Illinois. Work Environment

This position allows for a flexible remote work environment while maintaining the essential human connection through virtual therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, tailoring evaluations to the particular needs of each individual.
• Collaborate with clients in developing personalized treatment plans that align with their unique requirements, goals, and preferences, ensuring that the therapeutic strategies work with their lived experiences.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to deliver effective interventions that address mood disorders.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, encouraging discussions around treatment options, self-care practices, and the importance of mental health advocacy.
• Monitor client progress routinely, adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing feedback and the evolution of clients’ needs.
• Facilitate integrated care by collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support is provided to each client.
• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment methods to continuously improve therapeutic approaches.
• Maintain meticulous records in adherence with ethical standards and legal requirements to ensure client confidentiality.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enrich knowledge and foster collaboration.
• Engage in client advocacy, focusing on reducing the stigma associated with mental health challenges and mobilizing resources to meet client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals suffering from various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will work with a diverse clientele, including marginalized groups such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse, ensuring that every individual receives compassionate and effective therapeutic support to help them navigate their conditions.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field, underscoring your theoretical and practical grounding in the profession.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster a trusting and respectful therapeutic environment.
• Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental approach in working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage caseloads effectively and ensure high-quality administrative support.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in evidence-based treatment modalities, including but not limited to CBT and DBT.
• Background working with underprivileged populations and understanding the barriers they face in accessing mental health resources.
• Prior experience with group therapy and community mental health initiatives is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
