Job Description
Job Title: Automation Commissioning Engineer I
Department: Project Deployment
Supervisor: Manager of Product Commissioning
Job Purpose:
The Automation Commissioning Engineer I (ACE I), maximizes customer satisfaction by performing commissioning and project execution activities, which support customer goals. The ACE I will be responsible for all aspects of site commissioning, providing a high-quality on-site presence to assist in resolution of all mechanical and/or electrical issues, and support technical service trips as needed. In addition, the ACE I will provide timely, high quality service operations and maintain a professional image.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
โ€ข Develop project specific commissioning documentation.
โ€ข Support development of commissioning documentation based on installation and startup manuals, as new technologies are onboarded.
โ€ข Perform and lead system commissioning for conveyor and rack systems.
โ€ข Provide mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of conveyor systems during commissioning activities.
โ€ข Support mechanical installation of small conveyor systems and re-work or reconfiguration of existing systems.
โ€ข Support electrical installation, both high (480 volt) and low voltage, including the termination of wiring.
โ€ข Develop and support close out of commissioning punch list.
โ€ข Support customer training on equipment and various technologies
โ€ข Develop and supply weekly updates related to project specific tasks.
โ€ข Ensure operational excellence is achieved by executing all projects with quality and accuracy.
โ€ข Work with Project Management and System Engineers to understand As-Sold functionality of the system.
โ€ข Be a leader of and practice all rules regarding personal and job site safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
โ€ข 3+ years of mechanical and electrical experience with conveyor systems is preferred.
โ€ข Demonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to include the ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
โ€ข Aptitude and ability to analyze and interpret all mechanical and electrical information in service manuals.
โ€ข Ability to effectively use hand and power tools.
โ€ข Working knowledge of electrical power and control systems.
โ€ข Proficiency in software applications such as AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
โ€ข Technical writing skills a plus.
Working Conditions:
โ€ข Travel up to 90% or as needed.
โ€ข Some weekend/night work required as needed.
โ€ข Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
โ€ข Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
โ€ข Moving or traversing for an extended period.
โ€ข Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
โ€ข Operating computers for an extended period.
โ€ข Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
โ€ข Occasional movement and positioning of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
