Work Environment

This role is designed to be conducted remotely, allowing for flexibility in your work setting. However, you will be primarily engaging with students within school systems across Irvine, California. Our virtual platform enables effective collaboration with families, educators, and other mental health professionals, ensuring comprehensive care and support is delivered to those in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between families and outpatient providers, facilitating effective communication and resource sharing.
  • Engage with insurance companies to manage pre-certification processes and utilization management, ensuring that clients receive the necessary financial coverage for their treatment.
  • Participate in discharge planning and aftercare planning to provide continuous support for clients transitioning out of acute care.
  • Provide therapeutic meal support while modeling a healthy relationship with food, promoting positive attitudes towards nutrition and self-care.
  • Deliver safe, empathetic, and affirmative care tailored to each client's unique circumstances, informed by their intersecting identities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on providing mental health care to students and their families, addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. Our client-centered approach is designed to empower children and adolescents, promoting resilience and well-being within school environments. You will be instrumental in helping students navigate their personal challenges while ensuring alignment with educational goals and family values.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Must possess a valid LCSW license in the state of California.
  • Experience working with older adults and/or children is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated clinical and diagnostic skills, with an ability to conduct thorough assessments and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as in partnership with team members.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a school-based setting or with school-aged clients is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Advanced training in trauma-informed care practices would be an asset.
