Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is searching for a Maintenance & Preservation Warehouse Specialist with experience in the oil and gas industry.

Work schedule is 5 x 2 working an 8 hour day in a warehouse located in Schriever, LA so candidate must live locally within a 50 mile radius of the facility.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

The Maintenance & Preservation Warehouse Specialist is responsible for performing routine maintenance and preservation in support of Gulf of Mexico Production Operations equipment and spares. Functions as the focal point by continuously improving our preservation standards through standardized documentation and adherence. In addition, the specialist is familiar with warehouse management best practices and able to perform basic materials managements tasks that include material handling, inventory counts & reconciliations, and basic warehouse housekeeping.

Material Preservation

  • Utilizing ERP SAP routinely execute material preservation that includes assessing equipment and following detailed work instructions that adheres to the material's preservation requirements.
  • Function as the maintenance and preservation subject matter expert. Recommends best practices to improve equipment preservation.
  • Ability to read preservation requirements and develop detailed preservation standards. Instructions are based on first-hand equipment knowledge and experience.
  • Develop and co-create equipment preservation standard work instructions with the input and support of Hess' MR&I (Maintenance, Reliability, & Integrity) and Supply Chain teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with specialized vendors to perform maintenance and preservation at K&B's facility. Ensure vendors have the necessary onsite resources to perform the work per the preservation schedule.
  • Track equipment preservation metrics and schedule to ensure site resource planning and allocation. Daily work activity is planned weeks/months in advance while managing day-to-day maintenance & preservation work.
  • Examples of Maintenance and Preservation tasks include the following: inspect interior/exterior components are clean, dry, and corrosion free; coat exposed un-painted machined surface such as the valve shaft with corrosion inhibitor; install, re-install, or replace protective covers; manually rotate shafts (e.g. electric motor); fasten and securely place material in wooden crate(s) for mechanical protection during storage and shipment; ensure certain electronics are stored with an adequate amount of desiccant to prevent moisture; material such as detectors or circuit breakers are housed in climate-controlled storage and properly packaged with bubble wrap, as necessary.

Inventory Procedures and Control

  • Support and participate in inventories and reconciliations/clean-ups to ensure accurate and visible offshore inventory
  • Support Material Master (MM) searches and bin location updates that supports preservation work real-time.
  • Recognize issues or waste and proactively recommend solutions to drive optimization and participate in Kaizen / problem solving events.

Environment, Health and Safety

  • Ensure all materials on shipments bound for onshore meet established safety and environmental requirements (labeling, packaging, etc.)
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and promote safe activities; exercise stop work authority if unsafe conditions exist
  • Maintain familiarity with hazardous material handling and storage procedures/requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications

Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Five (5) years of general experience with the installation, assessment, repair, testing, and maintenance of rotating and fixed machinery, and electrical and instrumentation components.
  • General understanding of offshore production equipment (e.g., compressors, engines, electrical motors, misc. valves, pumps, general instrumentation, heat exchangers, mechanical seals and gaskets, etc.).
  • Prior quality control/assurance experience.

Desired:   6+ years of first-hand experience in warehouse or yards preferred.

  • Experience working in Oil & Gas environment be it offshore, refineries, or service company.
  • Systems application experience and knowledge a must (SAP MM module is highly desirable).
  • Effective Communication Skills (oral and written).
  • Experience working in teams.
