    SBIR designs and manufactures the most technologically advanced Infrared (IR) and Electro-Optical (E-O) test instrumentation available. SBIR's broad line of innovative products support testing of military and commercial sensor systems for world-wide use in laboratory, production, depot and field test applications.     Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. (SBIR) is recruiting an experienced and motivated Electro-Optics Assembler for our manufacturing team.
    $25.00/hr - $32.00/hr. - DOE
    On-Site, M-F
    Responsibilities - Electro-Optics Assembler
    • Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly and schematic drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment.
    • Routes and laces cables.
    • Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, and semiconductor circuits on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other units.
    • Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes.
    • Attaches hardware and seals assembly.
    • Examine parts for defects such as pinholes or chips.
    • Replaces defective components and wiring.
    • Assembles mechanical, electronic, and optical systems by using drawing and travelers.
    • Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
    • Aligns and clamps parts together, or positions items in fixtures, jigs, or vise.
    • Reads instructions such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
    • Attaches ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip.
    • Insert cable in plastic connectors.
    • Tests wiring continuity with continuity tester.
    • Marks identifying data on completed harness.

    Requirements - Electro-Optics Assembler
    • High School or GED Equivalent
    • Two to five years of assembly experience.
    • The ability to work full time.
