Join us in an inspiring workplace where you can belong, grow, and make a difference!Summary Description This position will involve the operation of a powered pallet jack, or similar, and the use of a radio frequency (RF) device.  The position requires an individual to be able to pick orders in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining and operating a safe work environment.  It is important that this position possesses the willingness to accept change and be proactive rather than reactive.  This individual must be certified in both LTL and Ship Line picking and packing and be versatile enough to work in either area.

What will your day look like?

  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT)
  • Ability to use RF technology including wearing a gladiator type device.  Using the RF device, pick orders in an accurate and timely manner to include:
    • The ability to stack boxes onto a pallet to obtain the best fit.  Pallet heights may be up to 84 inches. 
    • Labeling pallets with the applicable movable unit (MU)
    • Application, where necessary, of the correct customer carton labels during the picking process
    • Ability to solve problems by picking issues as they are found and identify to the Supervisor or Team Lead if errors are repetitive
  • Maintain a clean work environment when working in the rack, aisle, and PIT locations
  • Notify immediately the Supervisor of any safety issues
  • Willingness and ability to work between LTL and Ship Line order picking
  • Work either an 8- or 10-hour day plus overtime as required
  • Frequent and repetitive lifting is required up to at minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must have the ability to process international orders
  • Successfully complete one day Train the Trainer class
  • Training certification of LTL and Ship Line picking
  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and safety violations are reported promptly and immediately
  • All other duties as assigned
What will you bring to the table?
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Must possess good communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Train the Trainer certification or equivalent within three months of assignment
  • Be goal oriented and able to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrate good judgement and must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative
  • Goal oriented, able to work under pressure, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Be certified in all pick types, and be proficient in shipping instructions for all pick types
  • Possess basic math and keyboard skills
  • Attention to detail to adhere to 99.92% pick accuracy and maintain 95% efficiency rating.
  • Be proficient in the shipping instructions for all pick types.
  • Possess a safety-first mindset.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
