SUMMARY
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Quality Coordinator supports and drives quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for large-scale infrastructure and LRT projects. This role is critical to project compliance and works closely with project teams and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing QMS processes, conducting audits, tracking deficiencies, and ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulations. You will communicate findings, maintain data integrity, and apply your expertise to identify and address non-conformances quickly and accurately.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE

  • Maintain continuous oversight of quality inspections and testing protocols on construction sites for Major Projects.
  • Maintain continuous oversight of high-risk foundation activities, specifically performing Quality Verification Engineering (QVE) for caissons and tiebacks.
  • Manage and verify tieback proof tests and tieback pre-production tests to ensure they meet project design specifications
  • Perform immediate interpretation of quality data and audit findings to distinguish between simple documentation errors and genuine non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Escalate true exceedances in quality standards and engage stakeholders-including clients, contractors, and sub-consultants-through established project response and corrective action protocols.
  • Issue formal notifications and concise technical briefings to project managers and site engineers regarding quality anomalies, trends, and deficiency forecasts.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis of quality records and internal trackers to identify emerging patterns, providing proactive recommendations to improve processes before failures occur.
  • Develop and review Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans, Quality Manuals, Quality Processes for critical infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain rigorous records of site activities, QMS compliance logs, and material testing results

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and document control, with a talent for mastering technology and managing complex databases.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Aconex, Procore.
  • Technical understanding of construction materials testing, geotechnical investigation inspections
  • Ability to work on active construction sites to perform physical inspections, verify compliance
  • Strong communication skills, skilled at translating complex quality metrics into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and external agencies

  • Expected Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. The actual rate will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
