Job description

Executive Assistant

Columbus, Ohio

Goodwin is building the next generation of software for charter aviation. In private aviation, brokers work directly with clients to plan trips, while operators own and fly the aircraft, and Goodwin powers the workflows that connect the two every day. We're focused on solving real-world complexity with elegant technology, bringing instant sourcing, polished proposals, modern payments, and AI-driven insights to an industry long held back by manual processes and legacy systems. Our platform helps aviation brokers win more deals, work smarter, and deliver exceptional experiences for their clients.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio with distributed talent across the US, Goodwin is on a fast-growth trajectory as we redefine private aviation technology from the ground up.

This role exists to keep things organized and moving so the CEO can stay focused on the highest-impact work. That requires more than simply taking direction. You'll need to understand context, listen for the intent behind a request, and use strong judgment to determine what needs to happen next—even when every detail hasn't been spelled out.

You'll also play an important role in creating exceptional experiences when customers, partners, and our team come together at Goodwin HQ. Whether you're managing the CEO's calendar, translating a quick conversation into an action plan, planning a multi-day customer visit, or solving a last-minute logistical problem, you're the person who makes sure the details are handled and the show goes on.

This is a hybrid role based in Columbus, Ohio. There will be flexibility to work from home, but in-office presence at our HQ at the airport is required for customer visits, company events, and other occasions when being onsite is necessary to get the job done. This role also involves handling time-sensitive tasks throughout the Columbus area as needed.

Own the CEO's calendar and day-to-day coordination, thoughtfully managing meetings, travel, logistics, and follow-ups so priorities stay on track

Learn how the CEO thinks and communicates, using context and strong judgment to understand the intent behind requests, determine what needs action, and move things forward without needing every detail spelled out

Own customer visits and onsite events at Goodwin HQ from start to finish, including agendas, catering, restaurant reservations, travel and transportation, decorations, room setup, custom swag, and all the details that create a polished experience

Be hands-on during visits and events, coordinating vendors, setting up spaces, keeping schedules moving, taking care of guests, and troubleshooting whatever comes up in real time

Utilize your trusted network of vendors, including caterers, restaurants, decorators, embroiderers, printers, transportation providers, and others we can count on to deliver (often on short notice)

Handle changing plans, last-minute needs, and in-person tasks with calm and resourcefulness, whether that means adjusting an event plan, picking up an order, sourcing something urgently, or traveling throughout the Columbus area to get something done. You're comfortable getting out from behind your desk and going wherever the day requires.

Keep the details from falling through the cracks, tracking open items, anticipating what's needed next, and prioritizing competing requests based on what matters most

The CEO can communicate quickly and naturally with you without needing to over-explain every request

You understand not just what was said, but what needs to happen as a result

You ask questions when clarification genuinely matters, while confidently moving forward when you have enough context to make the call

You know when something requires immediate action, when it can wait, and when it needs to be surfaced back to the CEO

You increasingly anticipate needs, preferences, and next steps before being asked

Customer visits and events feel thoughtful, polished, and effortless to the people attending them—even when a lot is happening behind the scenes

When plans change at the last minute, you quickly find a solution and keep things moving

The CEO trusts you to handle details, exercise good judgment, and make decisions independently

You are known as someone dependable, resourceful, organized, perceptive, and easy to reach

5+ years of experience supporting senior executives, ideally including direct support for a CEO, founder, or other highly dynamic executive

Exceptional judgment and discernment. You pick up on context, understand the intent behind what someone is communicating, and know when to act, when to ask, and when to escalate

Strong event planning and hospitality instincts, with experience coordinating vendors, travel, catering, reservations, and the many details that go into creating a polished experience

Comfort operating in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment, where priorities can change quickly and you won't always receive perfectly detailed instructions

Highly resourceful and hands-on. You're comfortable solving problems, making things happen on short notice, and jumping in wherever needed

Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to build a dependable network of local vendors and partners

Exceptional organization, responsiveness, and follow-through, with the ability to keep multiple priorities moving without details slipping

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability and willingness to regularly travel throughout the Columbus area during the workday
