Job description

Job Title: Regulatory Specialist (Food, Flavor & Consumer Products)
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and communicative Regulatory Specialist to join our technical compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed regulatory research, interpreting compliance rules for our product portfolios and raw ingredients, and maintaining precise technical data within enterprise systems.
This is a critical cross-functional role requiring a strong technical understanding of regulatory frameworks (such as FDA and international guidelines), exceptional organizational discipline, and the ability to translate complex regulatory topics for non-regulatory audiences like Procurement, Quality, and R&D. If you excel at managing tight deadlines, maintaining meticulous data integrity, and supporting global customer documentation needs, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Data Maintenance & Ingredient Compliance
• Vendor & Material Review: Manage technical data maintenance for purchased ingredients by communicating with vendors, interpreting technical documentation, and updating records within company databases.
• Regulatory Interpretation: Conduct detailed research and interpretation of rules, guidance, and statutory requirements applicable to our product portfolios and ingredient streams.
• ISO & Policy Support: Assist in managing, reviewing, and revising regulatory ISO work instructions and applying internal compliance policies.
Technical Documentation & Customer Support
• Customer Documentation: Coordinate across functions to create, issue, and maintain customer-facing product documentation-including product specifications, ingredient statements, allergen profiles, nutritional data, GMO-status reviews, organic compliance, Kosher/Halal certifications, country of origin, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Internal Advisory: Serve as an internal information resource representing the regulatory viewpoint, providing guidance and education to R&D and commercial teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably in regulatory compliance within the food, beverage, flavor, cosmetic, or personal-care industries.
• Technical Mastery:
oStrong technical understanding of regulatory documentation rules and guidance (proficiency in FDA and Canadian regulations preferred; familiarity with international standards is a strong plus).
oSolid computer skills, including high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the aptitude to quickly learn enterprise ERP systems and specialized databases.
oStrong independent analytical and problem-solving skills (laboratory analytical experience is considered a plus).
• Core Competencies: Excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills; proven ability to translate complex regulatory topics for non-regulatory audiences; exceptional attention to detail; ability to set priorities and meet multiple deadlines under pressure with minimal supervision.
