Position Overview

Gentle Health Balance Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental health status, utilizing both clinical interviews and standardized assessments.
• Design and implement tailored therapeutic treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices suitable for individual client needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques that promote healing and personal development.
• Maintain thorough documentation of client progress within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and specialists to provide integrated care, including referrals to psychiatrists or additional therapy services when needed.
• Stay informed of the latest advancements in mental health treatment methodologies and share findings with the team to enhance clinical practices.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute emotional distress, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills during challenging situations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele facing challenges such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and more. Our client base includes adolescents, adults, and families, requiring a culturally competent and adaptable therapist who can cater to varied backgrounds and needs. The focus on building trust and rapport with clients is essential, particularly in a remote setting where establishing connection can present unique challenges.

Qualifications

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience, demonstrating expertise across a range of mental health issues.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage clients, build rapport, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms, ensuring efficient documentation and client management.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, along with the ability to maintain composure and empathy in high-pressure scenarios.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing culturally responsive techniques to engage clients effectively.
• Background or specialization in family therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use disorder treatment is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in working within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a collaborative care approach.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
